The Joyful Heart
Sandy's art is about the extraordinary in the everyday ordinary. She fills her artwork with bright and vivid colors and tangible abundance in order to awaken our senses to "This Holy Presence of Immutable Light and Love that permeates our everyday world in quiet unobtrusive, immediate familiarity".

Each delightful interior or garden includes, cats, dogs, teapot, cups and cookies, books, vases full of bright flowers, fabrics upon fabrics, pillows, chairs, sofas, and windows full of sunshine or starlight; The tangible symbols of peace, love, harmony, security, devotion, communion and grace.

Sandy invites us to feel at home in these rooms and gardens so that we may rest a moment and remember the extraordinary value of Divine Wonder that arrives via the Child of Innocence that dwells within every heart. As she says "Awareness and Tranquillity is present all the time, recognizing this truth is essential for our stability and happiness in life".

Philosophical and artistic by nature, Sandy was always acutely aware of the 'Mystical Sacred Magic of Everyday Living'. She hopes to communicate to others 'the feeling of this marvelous dimension' through her art work. Using the deep, rich gem colors of acrylics contributes to the especially joyful, healing energy-aspect of her pieces.

Unbridled, and deliberately abandoning the instructions of conventional art schools, she leaps in with innocent joy and enthusiasm painting in the style known as Naïve. Her unique talent gives the work a childlike or folk-art primitive feel, yet it is entwined with a deeply profound sense of wisdom combined with the eye of the natural artist that she is.

Sandy lived in Aspen, Colorado where she enjoyed a sweet home life with her husband and three children for over 30 years upon their move to the very speical and charming town of Ojai, California, in 1998 where they now reside.

From her very first art show in 1996 she received honors and positive responses. Her work has been selected and awarded by each and every juried show that she has entered. Her artwork has been shown at Down Home Furnishings, The Ojai Art Center, Half Moon Bay, Great Dames Ojai Gallery and Woody Creek Gallery of Aspen, Colorado.
