True Authority        Essay By Sandy Jones

Krishnamurti tells this joke: The devil and his friend are following a human being. The human being stoops to pick up something, and the devil's friend says, what did he pick up? The devil says: the Truth. The friend says well that's bad news for you, isn't it? The devil replies, not really, when he gets back, his fellow human beings will help him organize it.

"Human government" is always organizing around an ideology (one they believe in, one they think is truth), governments do this just like religions do---This is the very nature of government. Thus they cannot, by their very nature, be about freedom and Reality and God's Divine and Living Truth and Soul and Life of the individual. Its always about the 'ideology and the organization'.

No matter how noble or likable or appealing the agenda and ideals that are being organized and believed in, it simply cannot work.

The enlightened individual is all about freedom from organization. Why? Because the Prime Source of all Life and Light of Truth-we-are is not and cannot ever be captured, conceptualized, idealized and organized. sytemized, boxed and sold. Life Itself is uncontainable and unmanagable. This is The Beauty and Joy and Laughter of God. This is our Real Identity. The True Self, the Real Identity is 'above' beliefs and ideas, It is Immutable and Omnipresent and includes all ideas and all beliefs Within Its Self-Awareness. You and I, the Real You and I are unbeholden to any ideology, situation, or circumstance.

Awareness is My Identity, and It is Already Free from all that It beholds within Its Self. Now is my Peace and Rest and Wholeness. No idea can take or change or reverse or harm the Living Presence of Now, which the Self-I-Am (you are)---One Self, Identity-Awareness which belongs to God and God's Awareness, Consciousness is All That Is Forever Real.

Truth is about Identity-Fact-I-Am-- The Individual-I-Here-Awareness-I-Am--not a group ideology-fiction.

If you are fearful of what is happening in government and in our country, no matter which side you take, here is something that will be very Joyful to hear (and if I can do nothing else, let me bring the Joyful sound, the Celestial Song of the Spheres)

Read the following piece by William Samuel, a dear friend and mentor of mine:

"We do not belong to an organization no matter how many of them include our names on their roster of members. Rather, the organization, institution, fraternity, government, church or whatever, "belongs" to us, included within and as the Consciousness we are.

How can life belong to an idea it includes within itself? While the tangible point in time and space (called Bill or Mary) may "belong" to this or that organization for intellectual or social purposes (and there is nothing wrong with that) that does not mean that identity-I has surrendered its heritage. Our slowly arrived at knowledge of this Fact is that start of the conscious recovery of our holy Birthright. In Truth, it has never really been surrendered except in the binding, blinding belief that there is a medical fraternity, a scientific, political, religious organization, a marriage institution, a business and financial institution, a human society or a body organization to which we are subservient members and, therefore, supposed to bow down, salaam three times and do what "they" say or pay the consequences "they"dictate.

The dominion is ours. "And God gave man dominion..." "Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are...?" The New English Bible puts it: "You know well enough that if you put yourself at the disposal of a master, to obey him, you are slaves..."

Now, does this mean that we are to do battle with the appearance of "Principalities and powers" "out there"? Not at all. It means that we see the Power here as I, not there as that. And then act in accord, and then act in accord.

"What if the institutions will not permit me to act in accord?" Then we are forced to live (in order to know) the institution has no authority to prevent the Self-all-is from being the Self-All-is. This is what is going on in the world of appearances right now. The only institutions that will survive the growing turmoil are those that yield up their pseudo-authority to let Isness be the Authority.

Now hear this: That yielding is not done out there with the appearance of the institution. It is done here as this awareness we are. Do you see this? "
